McCourts Continue Battle Over Dodgers during Divorce Case
In Los Angeles, new sources have reported that the chief financial officer of the Los Angeles Dodgers has formally testified in court that he did not hear former CEO, Jamie McCourt, refer to herself as a team owner.
For weeks, legal proceedings have continued in the divorce case between Jamie and Frank McCourt. Now, the couple is battling it out to determine who has rightful ownership of the Dodgers.
On Monday, Peter Wilhelm told the court that Jamie told Frank several months before he bought the Dodgers to no longer pursue the team. According to Jamie’s earlier testimony, she did not think the purchase was risky.
Now, a judge must determine whether a postnuptial marital agreement that was signed by the couple in 2004 is considered valid under California law. There are two versions of the postnuptial marital agreement, one that gives the Dodgers to Frank as separate property and one that gives ownership to both parties.
